Hubballi: There is strong speculation circulating that the former minister, Shankar Patil Munenakoppa, may join the Congress and contest the Lok Sabha election from the Dharwad Lok Sabha seat.

His political mentor, Jagadish Shettar, is rumored to be the one bringing him into the grand old party. In response to these rumors, former CM Jagadish Shettar stated that he has not recently met Shankar Patil Munenakoppa and cannot comment on the matter. He suggested that Munenakoppa should make his own decision regarding his future course.

Meanwhile, Munenakoppa has decided to convene a meeting of his supporters and well-wishers on February 2 to determine the future course of action. Munenakoppa had earlier mentioned that, due to personal reasons, he was taking a break from his political activities and would become active after December. Now, he has announced that he will make a decision on his future course of action on February 2.
